AI (formerly AIDA): Transition to Sustainable Structure

2024 - 2026
Since its inception in 2022, the AI (formerly AI & Data Analytics) RJV had collaborated with AWS, Intel, Google, and Stanford to develop curriculum and PD opportunities. Building on those successes, the project aimed to advance the AI initiative in several key areas: securing AI discipline recognition with the ASCCC by supporting the implementation of AI curricula in additional BACCC colleges, enhancing professional development offerings, and fostering stronger industry and employer engagement within the region.

Early College Credit Regional Support

2024 - 2026
This RJV supported the retention of a focused resource to encourage and support activities, in the form of communities of practice, individual support, and the creation of tools and resources focused on the increase of dual enrollment and articulation as an equity initiative, especially finding areas where scalable practices could be applied regionally and subregionally and supporting collaborative initiatives across the region.

Monterey Bay Subregional Pathways to Education

2024 - 2026
This project fostered subregional efforts to create transparent, streamlined pathways in the Education Sector. Partners collaborated on the potential for more flexible but clearly articulated paths to permits, certifications, and credentials. A systemic approach, including best practices from current and former programs, more adequately and equitably addressed labor market gaps, built capacity, and expanded critical pathway partnerships between high schools, community colleges, UCs, and CSUs.

Regional Apprenticeship Coordination

2024 - 2026
This RJV continued the Apprenticeship RJV to create strategies that addressed gaps in the region’s ability to scale opportunities for Apprenticeships within the region. The information captured in the RJV regarding regional concerns, best practice sharing and capacity building was a focus for future strategies. Professional Development for colleges was designed and delivered.

Transitioning ECE/EDU in the Region

2024 - 2026
ECE/EDU continued to be a priority sector. BACCC had supported pathway development, including 26 new apprenticeship and 12 new pre-apprenticeship pathways in the region. Technical assistance to individual colleges and TK-12 and 4-year articulation was still needed. This sector was a CCCCO Vision 2030 priority , requiring statewide goals, objectives and additional reporting. This RJV sought to support a transition to a new lead and provide for a period of overlap as Kathleen White retired.

Unveiling Future Careers – Bay Area CTE Showcase

2024 - 2026
This project aimed to address a critical challenge in the realm of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at community colleges within the Bay Region. Despite increased funding over the years, the remarkable work undertaken in these programs remained largely unshared and misunderstood. The project sought to elevate the perception of CTE programs and foster regional collaboration by organizing an annual conference, producing mini documentaries, and hosting online webinars.

Vision 2030 Transportation: Preparing for ZEVs

2024 - 2026
The purpose of this RJV was to prepare faculty and students for Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs), e.g., electric and fuel cell hydrogen vehicles. Automotive, Auto Body Collision, and Heavy-Duty Diesel Faculty were taught Hybrid/Electric Vehicle hands-on training, hydrogen fuel cell, updated ADAS training and Subaru Solterra EV training. Following the completion of the trainings, the automotive programs were asked to participate in the development of regional EV curriculum.

Advancing Support for Learning-Aligned Employment Program (LAEP)

2023 - 2025
With the launch of LAEP, it became clear months into program implementation that ongoing support would be needed due to program complexities and barriers. Wages for internships were a high priority for everyone, so success in implementation was needed to retain the current funding stream. Earn & Learn was positioned to offer advanced support in the following two years to ensure success.

Building an Equitable Entrepreneurial Ecosystem (EEE) Phase II

2023 - 2025
The EEE RJV pilot successfully established the foundation of an equity-based entrepreneurial ecosystem, resulting in the creation of 240+ businesses in communities of color across the Bay region. In phase II, the project scaled to include 5 college partners, trained 300 entrepreneurs, built additional on-ramps and off-ramps, and created a non-credit “curriculum in common” entrepreneurial certificate.

NextGen Auto Marketing, Phase 4

2023 - 2025
This fourth marketing project was part of an initiative to broaden awareness and generate leads for four of the automotive programs. Phases One through Three built the foundation for the marketing campaign with an equity focus, generated 1,109 leads with 26% female and 66% minorities, and provided solutions to some of the challenges. Phase 4 included new creative, a refreshed media campaign, purchase and running of the media, use of the Leads Lab, website hosting and maintenance.

Nursing and Allied Health Educators – Building our Own

2023 - 2025
There was a historical and chronic shortage of nurse educators/faculty. Surveys of community college human resources showed that nurse educators were the most difficult to recruit. With the impact of COVID-19, registered nurses (RNs) were reevaluating their careers and looking to leave the hospital/clinical setting.
