Nuengruethai Muengnoi, affectionately known as Ann, arrived in the United States from Thailand in 2013 with a student visa. Having earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in Thailand, she sought to pursue her American dream in California. Years later, a challenging marriage left her and her son homeless for three months, forcing them to live in their car. Homeward Bound of Marin stepped in, providing critical support and helping them find stable housing.

Despite adversity, Ann persevered. From 2018 to 2021, she studied and worked in the field of early childhood education. Ultimately, through networking and the guidance of Canal Alliance, she enrolled in the College of Marin’s Certified Nurse Assistant and Home Health Aide training program. Today, she is a valued Certified Nursing Assistant at Villa Marin Senior Living, where she provides compassionate care to elderly residents.
