To turn that ambition into reality, Anai enrolled in the EMT program at the College of Marin and joined the innovative Fire Foundry program. This unique combination provided her with the rigorous hands-on training and foundational knowledge required to thrive in high-pressure medical situations.
“College of Marin and Fire Foundry have been a pivotal part of my journey, opening doors to both personal and professional growth,” Anai reflects. The experience not only equipped her with essential life-saving skills, but it also gave her the confidence to navigate a challenging, male-dominated industry.
Now, with her certificate completed, Anai is steadily advancing toward her ultimate goal. Armed with the training she received, she is working her way up within emergency medical services to become a paramedic firefighter—ready to answer the call when her community needs her most.
