Judy Chao walked into her Fall 2025 Intro to Entrepreneurship course at City College of San Francisco with a creative idea and not much else. She’s now walking into her own storefront.
Judy’s business, Little Little Floral Production, launched as a class project and has grown into a working company with a physical pop-up at The Crossing at East Cut in San Francisco. Along the way, it’s expanded well past retail bouquets — the company now runs weekly office flower subscriptions, on-site arranging workshops for corporate team-building events, and custom floral design for special occasions.
What stands out isn’t just the idea — it’s the execution. Judy paired her CCSF coursework with outside resources, including the San Francisco Public Library Business Center and the SF Office of Small Business, building a business strategy layer by layer rather than waiting for it to arrive fully formed.
CCSF’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation is part of the Bay Area’s growing network of business and entrepreneurship pathways that BACCC helps connect across colleges — giving students like Judy a structured, supported route from idea to income. Her story is a clear example of a Vision 2030 outcome in action: a certificate-backed pathway that led directly to a sustainable, self-employed livelihood.
“Moving from classroom concept to physical retail presence is no small feat,” says John Halpin, Dean of Workforce Development at CCSF. “Judy’s achievement reflects not only her creativity, but also her disciplined execution and strategic planning.”
