Youth Apprenticeship and PreApprenticeship
This is a community of practice for folks in the Bay Area who are working on Youth Apprenticeship and PreApprenticeship. We gather monthly to share best practices, upcoming funding and collaboration opportunities and to generally collaborate towards expanding youth apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeships in all sectors.
We typically meet monthly on the last Tuesday at 2pm PST.

Learning from a High School Apprenticeship Program
The San Joaquin County Office of Education has launched a High School apprenticeship program in collaboration with San Joaquin Delta College along with San Joaquin County Worknet. In November 2020, this program launched with the occupation of Information Security Specialist employed in the IT Departments in the local schools and school district offices. This is a recording of a presentation from Pam Knapp, Director of College and Career Readiness and K12 Strong Workforce Pathway Coordinator with the San Joaquin County Office of Education who joined us in the Bay Area to share learnings from this program. PreApprenticeship, Youth Apprenticeship and Dual Enrollment
In this meeting we heard from resident dual enrollment expert, Mallory Steven about the intersection of Dual Enrollment and PreApprenticeship and Youth Apprenticeship. In addition, we had a great example of a dual enrollment pathway built in Early Care and Education as shared by Kathleen White from City College of San Francisco. This meeting took place in September 2021.
