Speaker Scott Rossi is a 3rd generation San Franciscan. While finishing his Master’s program in 1997, Scott landed a part-time job at Genentech working on cyber security and disaster recovery. While a departure from his academic work, Scott’s career focus quickly pivoted from his planned career in the foreign service to one helping large enterprises protect their environments from cyber threats. Scott has worked in this capacity at such companies as Genetech, Levi Strauss and Gilead. He has a love of travel and exploration that lead him to take 1.5 years away from his career in 2012 to travel around the world including doing volunteer work in Cambodia teaching kids computer skills and a motorcycle trip from San Francisco to Chile.

Speaker Prakash Gurnani was raised in Dubai, one of the most culturally diverse places on the planet. Raised in Dubai, one of the most culturally diverse places on the planet, Prakash has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry. He is a graduate of the University of Houston Texas and has obtained multiple industry certifications. in ITIL, PMP SCRUM, and Privacy. He has held multiple leadership roles leading Projects, Network & Security Operations, and critical Data Center Operations for the government and has gained expertise in various industries be it the airline, telecom, real estate, and logistics. Having recently relocated to the US, he strongly believes that it’s never too late to learn anything you set your mind to.
