Update on Data Science at Laney

Data Science Thrives at Laney: New Certificates, Degrees, and Clubs on the Horizon

The Data Science program at Laney College offers a Certificate of Achievement approved in Fall 2023, covering foundational principles in data science and analytics through courses like Math 118, Intro to Computer Programming, Intro to SQL Programming, and Relational Databases. 

Additionally, the program includes AS Degrees in Data Analytics (in progress) and Data Science (available Fall 2024), with the latter being a calculus-based degree. Students will be able to engage in extracurricular activities such as joining the new Data Science club and participating in workshops on Python, NumPy, and Pandas.
