This year’s Fanfest in San Francisco witnessed the Regional Virtual Production Academy (RVPA) taking center stage, captivating over 50,000 enthusiasts across various realms of entertainment.

For three dynamic days, RVPA’s interactive booth, featuring a green screen, emerged as a creative and educational hub. Attendees immersed themselves into the world of virtual production under the guidance of RVPA’s expert faculty.

A sincere appreciation extends not only to the distinguished faculty—Mary Clarke-Miller, Joann Denning, Kevin Leeper, Monica Cappiello, and Sahra Bhimji—but also to the invaluable volunteers who played a pivotal role in creating an unforgettable experience, including Dorothy Abuan, Yunha Kim, Azimuth Wright, and Justin Mead. Their dedication and enthusiasm, alongside the faculty, left a lasting impact on Fanfest attendees.

Mary Clarke-Miller of Berkley City College expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “Fanfest is a celebration of creativity, and we were thrilled to be part of it. Our goal was to showcase the wonders of virtual production and inspire the next generation of creators.”

As Fanfest SF 2023 concludes, RVPA reflects on an exhilarating experience, grateful for the opportunity to connect with fans and share the excitement of virtual production. Special thanks to both faculty and volunteers, as RVPA continues to push boundaries and shape the future of entertainment.
