Laney College is proud to announce the launch of the Bay Area Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (BAAICoE) — a major institutional milestone for the Bay Area’s educational and workforce development ecosystem.
The college will host an Open House Launch Event on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Room F254. Leaders, partners, educators, and community stakeholders from across the region are invited to attend.
About the Bay Area AI Center of Excellence
The BAAICoE is designed to serve as a regional hub for AI innovation, supporting:
Curriculum development across Career Education (CTE) pathways
Equitable access to emerging technology learning
Workforce development programs tied to high-growth AI sectors
New partnerships with industry, community organizations, and employers
The Center will also house Pre-Incubator / Launch Pad facilities, giving students and faculty a dedicated space to explore AI tools, projects, and applied learning.
What to Expect at the Open House
Guests will have the opportunity to:
Tour the Center and explore the Pre-Incubator and Launch Pad spaces
Take part in hands-on demonstrations showcasing the Center’s capabilities
Attend a panel discussion: “AI and Oakland Job Creation”
Connect with faculty, students, and local partners
Enjoy light refreshments while networking
