TechSF Expands Internship Program to the East Bay, Offering Fully Funded Tech Talent for Local Employers

San Francisco, CA – A new opportunity is emerging for Bay Area businesses looking to strengthen their tech teams. TechSF, in partnership with the San Francisco and Oakland Workforce Development Boards, is expanding its initiative to connect local employers with fully funded tech interns—a move that aims to bolster the region’s workforce and provide valuable career pathways for emerging talent.

After a successful pilot program in San Francisco with six tech employers, TechSF is now extending its partnerships to the East Bay with additional funding. This expansion offers businesses in the area access to top-tier, locally trained professionals specializing in Cybersecurity, Business Analysis, IT Support, and Software Development.

How the Program Works

Companies selected for the program will be matched with highly skilled interns who will work on a 12- to 16-week project customized to their business needs. TechSF will fully fund wages and manage the program, providing a low-risk, high-reward opportunity for employers to bring fresh talent into their workforce.

Following the initial internship, companies will also have the chance to transition interns into a 6- to 12-month apprenticeship, allowing businesses to further develop potential future employees while supporting workforce growth in the region.

Limited Spots Available – Apply by April 1, 2025!

The program is limited to only 25 projects, making early participation essential. Businesses interested in taking part must express interest by April 1, 2025.

As an added incentive, companies selected for the program will receive an exclusive invitation to a TechSF partner event at LinkedIn in Summer 2025, where they can connect with program leaders and fellow participating organizations.

Employers looking to take advantage of this unique opportunity can schedule an introductory call with TechSF | San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development to learn more.

This initiative presents a valuable chance for businesses to access skilled tech professionals at no cost while contributing to the growth and revitalization of the Bay Area’s workforce.
