OAKLAND – A new regional joint venture(RJV) hosted its kickoff today to help match the ever increasing labor demand through the creation of an artificial intelligence (AI) and data analysis (DA) model curriculum for Bay Area Community Colleges. The effort is a joint partnership between eight local community colleges and key industry partners such aiEDU, Alteryx, AWS, Google, Intel, Joy Thomas Foundation and Ready.Set.Excel. The recorded streaming of the event can be viewed by clicking here, along with the event agenda and PPT presentation.
Over the next year, this RJV will collaborate on new research and development of curriculum, hold joint professional development workshops and share best practices and lessons learned to ensure the proposed curriculum is in alignment with industry demands.
The meeting was led with an introduction by Laney College President Rudy Besikof and Vice President of Instruction Becky Opsata. This was followed by great discussion amongst participating schools regarding upcoming plans & expectations, an in-depth discussion on curriculum and additional support efforts.
