A Regional Cannabis Workforce and Educational Initiative

2020 - 2022
In the California governor’s 2021-2022 proposed budget, the legal Cannabis industry was projected to generate $1.2 billion in tax revenue for the state of California over the following two years. Because of the exponential growth of the industry, cannabis producers and retailers faced skilled labor shortages. This RJV met the workforce needs of the cannabis industry and drove the Bay Area Community Colleges to develop and execute educational programs that led to above-living wage careers.
